Fine Motor Skills: Discover how they develop and which activities can help to support their development to improve handwriting. 

A workshop by Moyna Talcer

Fine motor skills are essential for almost all activities a child needs to engage in, in order to learn and develop. This workshop will explore how fine motor skills develop from infancy, then explore helpful activities and strategies you can use to support fine motor development. We will also discuss helpful strategies and programmes to use to support handwriting skills. This workshop is presented by a consultant Occupational Therapist with more than 20 years of clinical expertise. 


Moyna Talcer is a Consultant Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of clinical experience in the field of Occupational Therapy. Moyna has worked for the NHS for over 15 years and now has her own private practice based in Wallington where she has built her own Sensory integration Therapy clinic. Moyna specialises in supporting and assessing neurodivergent people throughout their lifespan. Moyna is an advanced practitioner in Sensory Integration (Level 8 ) and is a lecturer for the MSc pathway in Sensory integration for Sheffield and Hallam University via Sensory Integration Network UK and Ireland. Moyna is passionate about supporting the needs of neurodivergent people throughout their lifespan and, in her spare time, is a longstanding volunteer for the National Autistic Society Sutton Branch where she provides training and expertise to over 900 members. After completing her MSc in Sensory Integration, Moyna published her research entitled “A qualitative exploration into the sensory experiences of autistic mothers” which can be accessed via this link Moyna continues to be involved with research projects relating to autism. Moyna has spoken at conferences and provides training on a variety of topics to professionals, parents and teachers. Moyna mentors and supervises other Occupational Therapists and regularly engages in continued professional development.
