Supporting Your Dyslexic Child with Study Skills

Exams can be a very stressful time for both parents and children. Katrina will be speaking about the skills needed by dyslexic children before exams such as revision techniques and how to use your extra time efficiently. The talk will discuss exam access arrangements, resources and exam techniques and how to support your child with these skills. There will be an opportunity to ask questions after.
Katrina has been a specialist teacher and assessor for over 20 years and was previously Southern Regional Manager for Dyslexia Action and Head of Education and Policy at the BDA, before setting up her own company Positive Dyslexia Ltd in 2016 . She still carries out training and assessing for the BDA and also co-wrote the new level 7 accredited course recently for them. She is part of the Accreditation Board of the BDA and also a Board Member of SASC ( Standards of Assessment for SpLD Committee). Co-author of two books on dyslexia, she is passionate about raising awareness of dyslexia with parents, teaching assistants and teachers. She has two sons, one of whom has dyslexia and dyspraxia.
